Associate Professor

Iwan Harsono is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram. He holds a Master’s degree from the School of Economics University of New England, Armidale, Australia. Doctoral Degree in Economics at Brawijaya University, Malang, East Java, Indonesia. He joined the faculty of Mataram University, where he has been teaching and researching since 1987.

Main Research Interest

His main research interests are in the fields of Poverty, Agricultural Economics, Quantitative Economics, Regional Economics, Development Economics, Monetary Economics, Banks and Financial Institutions, and Macroeconomics. He has written extensively in newspapers and conferences. He has focused in recent years on research problems in the economic and social fields. He has participated in national & International Conferences and has visited more than 10 countries

Activities

Iwan Harsono is heavily involved in companies and local government institutions as a consultant, offering advice in planning, selection, implementation, and evaluation of Regional Budgets, Poverty Program Evaluation, and Regional Autonomy ImplementationThe involvement was marked by his membership in the NTB Inflation Control Team (TPID), NTB Regional Research Council (DRD), experts for the Provincial and Regency / City People’s Representative Councils in West Nusa Tenggara Province, the Selection Team for High Officials of the Regency / City Primary in NTB, the Research Advisory Council of the Regional Government of Mataram City, Members of the Indonesian Economic Scholars Association (ISEI) and the Indonesian Association of Public Administration Sciences (IAPA).

CEO of Bima-IEDZ

In 2009 -2012 Iwan Harsono, Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Management Board of Bima Integrated Economic Development Zone (Bima-IEDZ)  based on the Decree of the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Province Number 238 of 2009 concerning the President Director & Director of the Management Agency of the Bima Integrated Economic Development Area of West Nusa Tenggara during 2009-2012. KAPET Bima was formed based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 166 of 1998 with an area of 6,921.45 km2.

The coverage area of Bima-IEDZ is located in West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) which includes Bima City, Bima Regency, and Dompu Regency. Iwan Harsono leads the Management Board of Bima Integrated Economic Development Zone (Bima-IEDZ) with the assistance of 3 (three) directors and 38 employees. These locations have the potential to develop the surrounding area quickly to improve the regional economy. Bima-IEDZ is responsible for promoting, controlling, and monitoring regional development activities of Bima Regency, Dompu Regency, and Bima City based on development master access in accordance with regional and national planning. Congratulations on serving as Chief Executive Officer Management Board of Bima-IEDZ, Iwan received many assignments to several provinces in Indonesia and abroad.

President Commissioner of the Rural Bank

Iwan Harsono is Certified Rural Bank Commissioner. In 2018–2022, Iwan Harsono served as President Commissioner of the Rural Bank of West Nusa Tenggara Province based on the Decree of the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Number 580-377 of 2018 concerning the Appointment Commissioner of the Rural Bank of West Nusa Tenggara Province (BPR NTB). Until now, Iwan Harsono still serves on the Supervisory Board of the Association of Rural Banks in West Nusa Tenggara Province (PERBARINDO-NTB).
