Associate Professor
I am an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram, Indonesia, with over 30 years of academic and professional experience. I hold a Master of Economics from the University of New England, Australia, and a Doctorate in Economics and Development Studies from Brawijaya University, Indonesia.

Main Research Interest
Associate Professor Iwan Harsono鈥檚 primary research interests encompass a wide range of fields, including Poverty, Regional Economics, Agricultural Economics, Applied Econometrics, Development Economics, Political Economy, Monetary Economics, Banking and Financial Institutions, and Macroeconomics. He has published extensively in newspapers and presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. In recent years, his research has increasingly focused on pressing issues in the economic and social sectors. Beyond his academic and professional activities, he has traveled to more than ten countries, not only for academic purposes but also for personal enrichment and family vacations.

Activities
In addition to teaching, I am actively engaged in research & community service, with a focus on regional development, poverty alleviation, public finance, & policy evaluation.
I also serve in leadership, advisory, & consulting roles, including:
Former President Director of the Bima Integrated Economic Development Zone (KAPET Bima), established by Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 166 of 1998. This decree designated Bima as an Integrated Economic Development Zone, with the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) serving as ex officio chair. KAPET Bima is one of 13 KAPETs located in 13 provinces across Indonesia, aimed at accelerating regional economic development.

Activities
I regularly advise governments and institutions on economic planning, budgeting, inflation management, poverty reduction, and decentralization. I am also an active member of: ISEI (Indonesian Economists Association), IAPA (Indonesian Public Administration Association)
Currently, I am: Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Mataram University, A member of the Mataram City Inflation Control Team (TPID), A member of the West Nusa Tenggara Province Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPK), A member of the Research Advisory Council at the Mataram City Regional Research Agency, A member of the Regional Research Agency of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Management Agency (LPTSP) at the Mataram Mayor’s Office. Appointed by Decree of the Mayor of Mataram.
Earlier in my academic journey, I also served as President of the Indonesian Student Association at the University of New England, Armidale, New South Wales Australia, reflecting my long-standing commitment to academic leadership and community building.

Activities
Currently, I serve as Chair of APEPINDO (Association of Indonesian Writers and Researchers) for West Nusa Tenggara.
I have also traveled to more than 10 countries, broadening my global perspective and enriching my academic, professional, and personal experiences.
